Salman Khan’s next film Ready is not quite ready to take off until the hero is comfortable with his character. For now, the film is through drastic screenplay alteration.

The Hindi remake of the 2008 Telugu blockbuster Ready which was directed by Srinu Vytla had the hero (Ram) playing a college student on a defiant rampage. However, 44-year-old Salman would have none of that - he asked director Anees Bazmee to make changes to suit his age and image.

With shooting scheduled to start from June 15, Anees, who was busy shooting Thank You, had very little time to accommodate Salman’s demands. But Salman had made it clear he wouldn’t shoot until the changes were made.

In fact, Salman’s embarrassment about not playing his age has been growing over the years. In Tere Naam, the remake of the Tamil blockbuster Sethu, Salman’s role of a college student had to be justified by showing that he was an old student hanging out on the campus just to be with his friends (quite like Aamir Khan in Rang De Basanti).
